All shared charters are single species, either halibut or salmon.
Private charters are tailored based on guests’ desires, weather conditions, season, and what fishing techniques/species are producing the best results at the time of your trip. Species we fish for include halibut, salmon, rockfish, and lingcod. Based on the time of year, tides, and availability, it is common to put multiple species on the boat each day.

  • All full day shared charters are single species only – halibut or salmon.
  • All private charters are tailored based on guests’ desires, weather conditions, tides, season, and what fishing techniques/ species are producing the best results at the time of your trip.  Species we fish for include halibut, salmon, and rockfish.  It is common to put multiple species in the boat each day.
  • All private trophy charters are long range trips that provide the opportunity to catch larger fish, and include lingcod in season (after July 1).
  • Shared full day charters are 8-10 hours.
  • Private full day trophy charters are 10-12 hours.

  • Full Day Shared Halibut Charter – $325 per person (2 person minimum)

Your safety and the safety of the crew and vessel are paramount to anything else on the water.  Please note the following important safety information:

  • All charters begin with a detailed safety briefing prior to departure.
  • The captain reserves the right to end the trip at any time if he determines conditions are not safe to proceed with the trip.  If a Small Craft Advisory, Gale Warning or Storm Warning is issued for Kachemak Bay, the trip will not depart that day and Day charters will be refunded. If the trip must be cut short for any reason after 5 hours on a full day, no refunds will be given. If a trip is cut short for unlikely mechanical problems, refunds will be prorated based on fishing time.
  • The Fiskr Valhalla is maintained and supplied per Coast Guard regulation.  PFDs are available for all persons on board, and children 16 and under will be required to wear their PFDs at all times.  Age restriction is 6+ for full day and half day charters.
  • Absolutely no illicit drugs – this includes marijuana.  This is Non-Negotiable.  Marijuana is an Illegal Drug in the eyes of the United States Coast Guard and will cause us to lose our captains license if it is found on board.
  • No hard alcohol (beer and wine are okay, but NO GLASS).

If any of these items are discovered prior to departure, you will be asked to take them back to your car.  If they are discovered after charter departure, the trip will end immediately with no refunds.

  • Full day shared and private charters are 8-10 hours starting at 7 am.
  • Trophy charters are 10-12 hours starting at 7 am.
  • All charters depart from the Homer Small Boat Harbor (specific slip information to be provided at time of booking).
  • Custom-built Sea Raider 2896 built by Raider Boats out of Coleville, Washington.
  • Fully welded aluminum hull with a fully enclosed, heated bulkhead, and seating for 6 clients.
  • Enclosed, private, stand-up head (bathroom) that is cleaned daily and not used as a storage compartment.
  • 30’ hull including extended transom, a 9’2” beam and deck space maximized for fishing comfort.
  • Powered by twin 200hp Suzuki fly by wire outboards for safety and speed to the fishing grounds.
  • Onboard fish boxes will stow your catch on ice.
  • High quality gear and equipment (rods, reels, lures, bait, etc.).
  • Your catch will be immediately bled and placed on ice to ensure the highest quality taste.  Prior to your departure, your fish will be skillfully fileted and ready for processing (packaging and freezing for shipping) at the processor of your choice. We recommend Natures Ventures in Anchor Point.
  • Small cooler with ice for your food and beverages.

Please plan to arrive prepared.  In particular, if you arrive without an Alaska Sport Fishing License (and King Salmon Stamp for king salmon charters), we will not depart and we will NOT issue a refund.  The documents must be in your physical possession, not on your cell phone.

  • Alaska Sport Fishing License and King Salmon Stamp (if fishing for kings).  We do not sell licenses or king salmon stamps, so you must purchase this prior to your arrival.  Please visit the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website for more information and to purchase your Sport Fishing License and/or King Salmon Stamp online.  Bring your ADF&G Identification Card if you have one in lieu of a license/stamp.
  • Food and beverage for the duration of the trip (including water).  Leave your cooler in your car – we will have one available for your use.  Also, no bananas, Please!
  • Appropriate clothing and outerwear, including rain gear, rubber boots, warm jackets, hats, and gloves.
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Camera (optional).
  • Your sense of adventure and enthusiasm!

  • No pets.  Service animals will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  Please call us at (907)435-4325 to discuss this further if you are considering booking and have a service animal.

Charter fishing reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 30 days before charter – You will receive a full refund less a 10% fee.
  • Within 30 days before charter – You will receive no refund unless the trip can be re-booked.  If the charter can be re-booked you will receive a full refund less a 10% fee.
  • No Shows will be charged 100%, no refund.
  • Full refunds will be given if your trip gets cancelled due to COVID-19 travel restrictions causing cancellation of travel in the client’s home state or the state of Alaska. Full refunds will be given if the client tests positive for COVID-19 less than 3 weeks prior to their scheduled arrival in Alaska. Refunds will not be given due to quarantine mandates.

All charters require 4 passengers for the charter to depart unless the boat is booked as a private charter. Wild Coast Alaska will make every effort to honor all bookings.  If Wild Coast Alaska cancels a charter prior to departure, you will receive a full refund.

All charters leave from the Homer Small Boat Harbor.  Instructions to the boat slip will be provided upon booking.
